Although it is a matter of degrees when trying to measure the beauty of the Cinque Terre villages, Vernazza is probably the most beautiful of the five. Upon first spotting it on the trail from Monterosso on the mountain ridge above, I was stunned by its beauty. The multi-colored, pastel-painted, multi-storied buildings contrasted with the sparkling azure-colored Ligurian Sea was a sight that was almost breathtaking in it beauty.
The beauty of Vernazza however is not confined to the area along the sea. We found the steep and narrow walkways that wound their way around the tiny village to be equally beautiful and interesting (as our pictures below will confirm).
